Can My Puppy Take the Class?

Dogs must be 12 weeks to 5 months with their second series of vaccinations completed.

Class duration is one hour for 4 weeks.

Only 12 spots open. Classes fill up fast!

(Cost: Only $90.00)

What Will We Learn?

You will learn how to teach your puppy to pay attention to you, recognizing its name in a variety of situations, sit, down, come, walk on a loose leash, stay, to greet people politely rather than jumping on them, settle, no biting (puppy mouthing), leave it, and a variety of puppy raising issues.

The first night will provide a lot of information to get you started, a short introduction to the exercises, and some socialization of the puppies.  Bring puppies the first week with a buckle collar, 4 to 6 foot leash, small soft treats that your puppy really likes, and a toy that your puppy really enjoys.

You may also want to bring a mat or towel for your puppy to rest on, and possibly a “stuffed” Kong for distractions.  Please bring verification of vaccination records to the first class (at least second series of DHLP, Rabies (if your dog is 4 months or older), and Bordetella.

If you adopted your dog from the Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) and take a Head Start Puppy Class at the shelter, you will receive a $10 OFF coupon at our "Paws to Shop" retail store.
