*Why are some adoption prices higher?
The Humane Society of Huron Valley provides valuable care and treatment for thousands of animals every year. They are all important to us. Our adoption fees help offset the cost of housing, feeding and caring for companion animals in our shelter. Some pets need an extraordinary amount of medical intervention and care. We can help these pets by pricing animals in higher demand with a higher adoption fee. The money raised by these “Legacy Adoptions” will allow us to provide lifesaving medical treatment, let us work with behavioral issues and help us care for animals that stay here longer before they find loving homes.
Variable adoption pricing or “Legacy” adoption pricing ensures that we can provide top quality of care for all animals.
Additional low-cost services include dental treatment, softclaws® silicone nail caps for cats, and heartworm preventative.

ANY SENIOR CITIZEN (62 years or older) will receive a $20 discount on adoptions.

The Local Dog Network Gives Dogs a Special Paw Up!
The Local Dog Network is helping us find homes for dogs that seem to be at the shelter for longer periods of time. These dogs, through no fault of their own, get passed over for younger or cutier dogs. There is no limit to how long a dog can stay at the Humane Society of Huron Valley. It does break our hearts when certain dogs are here for weeks, and even months at a time without getting adopted. The Local Dog Network (LDN) offers adopters valuable services if they adopt the dog sponsored by the LDN.
All members of the LDN have chosen to help support the Humane Society of Huron Valley. Each of the LDN members is donating services to the family lucky enough to adopt the LDN sponsored dog as follows:
Arbor Dog Daycare: 5 days of Dog Daycare (a $105 value)
Mantis Pet Supply: $50 Shopping Spree
Fetch It Photo: Certificate for a photo shoot with your pet (a $50 Value)
Look for the special sign on the cage at the shelter to see which dog is sponsored by LDN.
At any given time, there are many different sizes and breeds of animals available for adoption. Click below to view some of them through our listing at Petfinder.com:
