Jessica Makes Her Annual Trip to Help the Pets at HSHV
If you think Jessica's photo looks familiar it may be because you saw her on our 2009 kid's story page.
Jessica has started to make her birthday an annual day of getting donations for the homeless pets at HSHV. She told us she got the idea from her friend who also loves animals. Jessica sends out our "HSHV Wish List" in her birthday invitations and we are so happy she does. This year Jessica, her mother, and grandmother came to visit with a car full of much needed animal care products and also checks made out to HSHV to care for the animals.
Jessica has plans for next year and she tells us that she loves every animal even on this planet. Her passion for pets is contagious and we thank her very much.

Trey and Marcus Join Forces to Help Homeless Pets
Marcus and Trey had birthdays close to each other so they decided to join together and have a collective birthday bash. Instead of having people buy gifts they asked for monetary donations which they would donate to the homeless pets at HSHV.
Trey and Marcus have very generous friends and family and even though Marcus could come to the shelter in person, Trey delivered $140.00 in donations for the animals.
We sincerely thank both boys for their generous spirit! |

Cans Really Stack Up
Marina and her little sister, Anna Marie, got interested in HSHV after visiting the shelter. Marina saw how many homeless pets are in her community that needed caring homes. She knows that it takes a lot of money to care for so many animals.
Marina had to decide on a project for her confirmation and she chose to do something to help HSHV. She collected cans and brought in the money she collected along with a brand new dog crate.
Thank you, Marina!

Mateo Makes a Positive Difference
Mateo loves animals and when he was asked what he wanted to do for his birthday he said "help the dogs and cats at the humane society."
Mateo may be young but he has the wisdom that comes from a loving heart.
We thank Mateo for thinking of the homeless animals and asking for donations to HSHV for his birthday! |

A Generous Soul!
What would you do if you found $20 on the ground? Some people might buy themselves a new shirt, or spend it on a video game, or maybe buy candy and junk food. Carla is not just any person however! When she found $20 she kept it so she could donate it to the care of the pets at HSHV that need to find new homes.
Carla loves pets and we think she looks wonderful with a cat on her lap too!
Thank you, Carla!

1-6-10 That's the Spirit!
Lisa and Ally know how to get in the holiday spirit. During their break from school, the girls brought donations to help the animals in our shelter. We love receiving these thoughtful in-kind donations from our Wish List. The items can be used at the shelter immediately and allow us to spend more of our monetary donations on the direct care of animals at our shelter.
Thank you, Lisa and Ally!
