Enter your dog in the HSHV "Celebrity Spokesdog" contest

The Humane Society of Huron Valley will celebrate the 34th annual Walk & Wag and RUN, a dog walk, 5k run, and family fun day, May 18 at Rolling Hills Park in Ypsilanti, and is searching for a "celebrity spokesdog" to be the goodwill ambassador for the 2013 event.

Walk & Wag is the largest annual fundraiser for HSHV, featuring doggie games and contests, prizes, animal-themed merchandise, family-friendly activities and once again this year's event will also feature a morning five-kilometer run.

All dogs are welcome to participate with their owners.

Does your dog have what it takes to be the HSHV "celebrity spokesdog"? The winning dog should have been adopted from the Humane Society of Huron Valley, be friendly toward people and other animals, well-mannered, and available to attend media events and Walk & Wag on May 18.

The winning canine will have his or her likeness featured on event posters and brochures and will be celebrated on the organization's web page and in its newsletter.

Additionally, the 2013 celebrity spokesdog will be highlighted at the Walk & Wag festivities at Rolling Hills Park, in front of hundreds of their doggie friends.

To compete in the pup-ularity contest, simply submit a photo and small essay on the merits of your canine companion. The deadline in January 31, 2013.  Email joyj@hshv.org or call (734) 661-3536 for more information.
