HSHV Announces 2013 Celebrity Spokesdog - Divot
The face of the 2013 Walk and Wag & 5K Run has been chosen and Walk and Wag & RUN registration is open!
“In September 2011, Divot greeted all the golfers who were registering for the annual HSHV golf tournament. When we walked in, it was love at first sight,” says Cathy. “The little two month old, two pound puppy didn't do much more than sleep the entire day but we held her any chance we could get!
Divot came to HSHV with her mama and five siblings on the PetSmart Charities Rescue Waggin’. The Rescue Waggin’ is a life-saving program that transports puppies and dogs from shelters in southern states that are unable to care for them to northern partner shelters, like HSHV, that have outstanding adoption programs.
“We named this precious little girl Divot because we are avid golfers, and we met her at the HSHV golf outing. She has a cat sister named Mulligan, so it only seemed appropriate,” adds Deb. “Divot answers to many names, Divvie, Little Little, and a few more. She has been a wonderful addition to our family. Divot is now two years old and loves her sisters more than anything, other than treats and walks. One of her favorite things to do is lay on her sister Bailey when she wants to be loved! She’s already a celebrity to us and know she will be super excited to part of this fun day!”
The Walk and Wag & RUN is the largest annual fundraiser for HSHV, featuring a 5K run to start the morning, doggie games and contests, prizes, and many more family-friendly activities. Ann Arbor’s 107one morning host, Martin Bandyke, will emcee the day, and of course Divot the 2013 Celebrity Spokesdog will be there to greet her fans.
