Humane Education

Our Humane Education program encourages young people share their natural affinity for animals. Research has shown that children who are taught kindness towards animals tend to mature into caring, responsible adults.
Our programs nurture the human/animal bond and instill compassion in children of a variety of ages.

Group Programs

Youth Programs

  • Camp PAWS: Offered in both summer and winter, this day camp program educates youth ages 7-10 to help them become responsible, compassionate pet caregivers
  • Junior Volunteers Club: Youth ages 12-17 will engage in a 6 week training program on their way to becoming an HSHV Junior Volunteer
  • Pets and Pajamas Movie Night: Children ages 6 and up are invited to spend a Friday evening with HSHV.
  • Animal Care Education (A.C.E.) Kids Club: A 4 week program for ages 6-10 that educates youth on caring for all animals in our community
