We don’t know a lot about this sweet little guy’s history but we have a few guesses. We do know that he & his brother were strays in Kentuckey until they were caught in Oct. 2021. From Oct to Dec they were through a shelter for vet treatment and moved to Michigan for foster placement. Fang then was placed in a foster to adopt home with a single mother, 2 young kids & a few cats. For several month Fang was afraid to leave his crate but with some time began to warm up. In the last 18 months he has made such progress! Not only does he feel comfortable leaving his crate but he has become a complete cuddle bug. His age is guestimated at 3 years old and early on experienced some normal young dog/ stray to housed dog vices such as a love of chewy on anything soft & fluffy as well as some accidents in the house. He has overcome these.
Fang is still struggling with accepting a collar which may give us a clue about his past. He would most likely do better in a home with a fenced yard to give him a lot of time to work on his fear of a collar. About six moths ago the family got second dog to help him feel more comfortable. He really came out of his shell with a doggy friend. Unfortunately in the last 2 weeks he has exhibited some new reactive behaviors that strongly indicate that he would do better in a calmer home without other pets or children at home. As he continues to get used to a life of security, comfort, and being loved, Fang needs the time and space to adjust at his own pace.
