We rescued him from a county shelter after he was found on the streets in Oakland County. We’ve been his owners for 3 years, but in the last year we’ve moved from a house with a large, fenced yard to a condo on a busy main road. He doesn’t have room to run or roam anymore, and that’s not fair to him. We also have some physically-related health issues that make it a challenge to care for him. We want him to live his best life and be free and able to be outside. He loves to play fetch and tug-of-war, and belly scratches and ear rubs are his favorite way of bonding. He is very loyal and loving. He does well with other dogs. Older kids or adults would be best, as he is almost 20% herding breeds, and he can herd a little one too easily. He is quick to learn commands, especially when rewarded with treats. He knows sit, down, stay, leave it, go lay down, let’s go and a few more.
Because of his herding instincts, he has a tendency to be acutely aware of bicyclists and runners and tries to approach them. We are hoping to find a home for him that provides love, a large area to run and play, and people who consider him a part of their family forever.
