Age: 1  Sex: Female   Breed: Pit Mix  Weight: 52lbs   Restrictions: Needs Fenced Yard. No Young Kids.

Lovage is a nervous girlie who seeks attention and cuddles with people once she is comfortable with them. She’s made huge strides of progress in the shelter but would benefit from living in foster until she is adopted. Lovage has interacted with a few different dogs here and started going out on walks by following a helper dog. Lovage is now brave enough to venture out with familiar staff and walk outside or spend time in the play yards. She needs someone who is patient and calm as she explores new environments. She is still only comfortable with familiar people leashing her. Due to her discomfort with being leashed, she will need a foster home with a secure fenced yard, so fosters can work on slow desensitization to the leash as she gets comfortable with them. She will need a home without young kids due to her nervousness.

How to Foster Lovage:

New fosters can take the first step by learning about fostering and signing up to become a new foster. Veteran foster parents can email fosters@hshv.org to schedule a pickup appointment.
