Zelda is a playful and loving girl who likes to sleep under the covers, play and run, and spend time with her human and animal friends.

Zelda was a rescue stray and has been working on her social and separation anxiety diligently ever since. She is still learning how to be comfortable being left alone, meeting new people (especially in her home), and seeing other dogs while on a leash. She’s got more work to do, but she’s come a long way and continues to improve all the time.

Zelda takes a little time to warm up to people, especially men, but when she learns to trust someone she falls absolutely in love with them. She’s incredibly affectionate and silly and is never happier than when she can spend time with her people.

Zelda would do best in a home with another dog she can take cues from and who she can play with to get her energy out. Her anxiety is always reduced when she’s got a dog friend with her and finding her a home where she can take advantage of this all the time is our top priority. While she is on the smaller side, most of her dog friends are large dogs and she plays and interacts with them very well.

We are asking prospective families to join us for a visit in our home so that you can see how she responds to new people in a space where she’s comfortable. If you have a dog, we would also love to have them join you if possible so that they can be introduced.
