We had taken in a stray kitten and named him Otis. It was clear right away that Otis needed a playmate. When we went to HSHV “just to look around,” there were so many kittens, but one kept coming up to the door and wanting our attention. When I held him, he immediately rubbed my face with his and began the loudest purring. He was choosing us. I was his human. We were family, and he was coming home. It’s been two years since then, and we can’t imagine our family without him.
