Intelligent, loving, high energy pup that needs a nurturing and patient home! Very motivated by food, play, and praise. Will be your new best friend and snuggle buddy if you let him. Reactive, but mostly curious and eager to unlearn poor behavior learned out of fear, shows immediate improvement with female babysitter!
OK with other dogs if properly introduced and not forced, mostly fearful and defensive. Has been around cats, but he’s curious and they avoid him so it’s hard to say how good he could be. Learning to go for walks, learning to use a herding ball, loves fetch. Okay with crates, but prefers to be closer to his person (has some attachment/fear of abandonment).
Very eager to please, might find joy in agility courses, puppy camp, mock-herding exercises, etc. Has some experience with clickers but needs more coaching.
Prior Home (2.5 yrs) : couple with young kid, attached to female primary caretaker. Was bullied by 2 other dogs, was around a cat but doesn’t play well with them. Was kept on a shock collar and left to run and play, not taken for walks.
Current Home (5 months) : single male with cat, can’t seem to feel safe/comfortable without a feminine presence. Nips at feet/pants of new people, reactive to collars and harnesses but okay once he trusts you. Reactive to other dogs but is good once he gets over the fear – would be good with a dog sibling as long as they don’t show aggression towards him first.
