I rescued Mitzy when she was 18-weeks-old and have had her since then. She is a sweet cat with people she trusts. She likes treats and is an excellent hunter. She’s caught ~20 mice in my house over the past 6 years.

Unfortunately, Mitzy is stressed in our home and requires a quieter home without children or other pets. Mitzy became unfriendly with her littermate, who I rescued at the same time, 2-3 years ago and generally doesn’t get along well with other animals. I recently had twins and the additional change has stressed Mitzy out to the point where she’s behaving badly. The decision to rehome her comes after months of trial and error with our vet, who recently agreed rehoming her is probably best, albeit difficult.

One key point to know about Mitzy is she was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis a few months ago which I’m treating with B12 injections and steroids. Mitzy will finish her steroids by Oct/mid and has one more B12 shot and blood panel left to complete to ensure she’s at a normal level. I am committing to work with her adopter to share the cost of the remaining B12 and blood panel treatment.

Mitzy will be a great companion to someone looking for a mature kitty who just wants to be loved. Once she feels comfortable with you, you’ll have her full attention and a new friend.
