Buckbeak is a soft, cute, sweet, sociable bunny with a beautiful fur coat that she keeps very well maintained and groomed. She enjoys the presence of people. Buckbeak lives in our home office where two people work two days per week and one person works the entire week. She is shown a good amount of attention during these times but is shown relatively little attention outside of those times. Our two children do not give her as much attention as she deserves. We had her spayed at a young age (as recommended by the veterinarian) to prevent cancer of the womb. She has extremely soft fur and enjoys being petted. She loves licking faces and other appendages when lying on the floor so as to be non-threatening. She enjoys digging, biting, and scratching, especially when it comes to cardboard. She currently lives on a diet of unlimited high-grade Timothy hay and organic corn-free/soy-free pellets. She lives in the largest dog cage we could find online and is trained to use a litter box. Even when released outside of the cage, we were able to mitigate any accidents outside of the cage after some training. Although she loves being around people, she can get a little defensive if she feels threatened, and like most bunnies, she doesn’t love to be picked up. However, she will not struggle if you pick her up several feet off the ground and are supporting her bottom while letting her lay upright against one’s chest. We are looking for an adoptive family where she will experience more freedom and get more exercise than she does at our house, perhaps in a home with one or more other bunnies to keep her company. Please bear in mind that she is a bunny and will have bunny tendencies like digging or biting and that she may do so to your carpet, rug, or electrical cords. However, if you are looking to give attention and freedom to a sweet bunny who is relatively easy to take care of, she would be a great option!
