We got our two cats Ginny (darker brown long hair tabby) and Luna (shorter hair white with brown) 3 years ago as kittens. They are rescues from a friend of ours who found the mother and her 5 kittens abandoned in a box in a Wendy’s parking lot. Then are both male (neutered) but we thought they were both female when we first got them, hence the names Ginny and Luna (from the Harry Potter series).
They are brothers, and were both neutered once they were old enough to safely do so. When we first got them my wife was home full time with our youngest, so they both grew accustomed to being around people throughout the day. Due to Covid my wife had to go back to work about a year ago, and due to our schedules we are all gone most of the day. We no longer have the time at home to give them the attention they need. They are both very loving cats who love to give attention, and Luna especially will sit/sleep on your lap regularly if given the opportunity. Ginny is very attentive / sensitive to emotion, and will curl up / sit with you if she senses you are sad or stressed. They would do much better in a home with someone who can be around regularly throughout the day, and can get more attention/play than we can give them. We have two daughters who are 6 and 8 now (they were 3 and 6 when we first got Ginny and Luna, so they are used to kids as well. We also have an older golden retriever, and the cats do fine with her. (Ginny especially loves to sit with her). We live in an apartment, so they are used to hearing other people around (neighbors upstairs, hallway noise, etc.), We are also close the the Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti so they regularly hear planes and jets taking off, so they are used to noise in general.
They are both very well litter trained, and do not potty outside of the litter box. Ultimately we want what is best for them, and have come to realize that unfortunately that means rehoming them to someone who can give them the love and attention that they need and deserve.
We will also provide a carrier for each cat, litter box (cleaned and scrubbed for transport), assortment of toys, scratch pads, large cat tree, nail clippers, brushes, food, dishes, etc. Extra photos can be provided via email.
