I adopted a two year-old cat from HSHV named Florence in 2018. She was the last cat I saw and she had the sweetest face and the prettiest subtle markings. She’s since been renamed Detective Elliott Stabler after the ‘Law and Order: SVU’ character, but we mostly call her Stabey. She knows her name and she’s incredibly docile and sweet. Every day when I come home, I’m greeted with loud meows and headbutts as soon as the door is open. She puts up with medication, she loves being brushed, and she’s food-motivated yet still incredibly polite. She purrs like a motorboat as you approach and you can hear her across the room. The only time she was accidentally let out, she waited overnight in a garage only a few yards away and came out when her name was called. She’s incredibly loyal and intuitive.

At almost nine years-old, she’s still so playful and it seems like she somehow continues to open up more and more as time goes on. She’s very social and wins the hearts of everyone she meets. She has never once been aggressive aside from going Shark Mode on her favorite toys. I can’t think of a funnier cat. She loves her sister, a now-two year-old tortie we adopted from Michigan Humane named Agent Fox Mulder (Foxie), and it’s been the best experience to spoil them and see them grow closer. Detective Stabler has taught me boundaries, responsibility, and profound love. She’s just a good girl. We love her with all our hearts. I can’t imagine a better cat or best friend. Thank you so much for my baby.
