Finally happy

When we adopted Gypsi she was scared and hurt. Her precious owners left her in the cold outside of HSHV. When we went to go find a dog, I never thought I would be getting a small, older dog, but we fell in love with Gypsi. We knew we had to help her gain back trust. It took a little while, but know she’s as happy as can be — always smiling and just loves people!! Truly a happy ending.

It’s true what they say, we don’t choose them–they choose us.

Our two 18 yr old girls (cats) recently passed away within 6 months of each other. They were our fur kids in a most deep sense. My husband was more than ready to have an animal back in the house, and I was still resistant. Lola and Finley: In memory of Lucy

Lola and Finley wanted to honor their late cat Lucy, who was adopted from HSHV. In Lucy’s memory they collected donations during a Salem Rocks’ hockey game for the homeless animals of HSHV. Avery: Birthday bash

For Avery’s ninth birthday she wanted to do something special. She came to HSHV to celebrate her birthday in style with kisses from kittens and dog meet and greets. Avery also collected donations instead of gifts. She donated food, towels and money to the animals of HSHV. Thank you so much Avery for your generous donations! Happy birthday!

Nathan: Blankets for kitties

Nathan really likes cats. He saved up some of his allowance, asked his parents for help to purchase supplies, and made blankets for the homeless kitties of HSHV. Nathan says “I like making blankets, and I love cats. I wanted to honor my cat, Popeye, who my mom rescued from HSHV in 2002.” Thank you Nathan so much for your amazing donation!

Cora: Amazing birthday girl

Emerson School

It started with a community service project organized by a cubscout named Frederick and ended with over 200 towels, sheets and blankets being donated to HSHV! Emerson School of Ann Arbor collected items for the homeless animals of HSHV. Thank you so much for your wonderful donation!

Girl Scouts Troop #40372

HSHV would like to extend a big thank you Ella and her wonderful group of girlscouts! Through cookie sales and dues they were able to collect over two thousand dollars for the animals of HSHV! Their commitment to the homeless animals of our community is amazing, and we here at HSHV know all the animals greatly appreciate their donation.
