Ann Arbor, MI (July 3, 2026) —Kitten season is in full swing, and the Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) is overflowing with playful, curious kittens looking for homes. To help more find families, HSHV is offering an Adopt One, Get One Free special on kittens for a limited time.
Families who adopt one kitten can bring home a second kitten at no additional adoption fee, making it easier than ever to welcome a pair of best furry friends.
“Our shelter is absolutely full of kittens right now,” said Matt Schaecher, HSHV’s Chief Operating Officer. “And we have over 330 kittens in our care currently. Every kitten who goes home opens space for another vulnerable animal in need. If you’ve been thinking about adding a feline friend to your family, this is one of the best times of year to adopt—and adopting two kittens can be one of the best decisions you make.”
While a single kitten can certainly thrive, behavior experts have long recognized the benefits of adopting kittens in pairs. Two kittens provide one another with companionship, exercise, and opportunities to learn appropriate social behaviors through play. They often help prevent boredom and unwanted behaviors by keeping each other mentally and physically engaged, and many families find that a pair of kitties adjust more quickly to new homes.
Every kitten has been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and comes with a starter bag of food.
Visitors are encouraged to stop by HSHV to meet available kittens or browse hshv.org/adopt. Regular adoption policies apply, and the Adopt One, Get One Free kitten promotion is available “while supplies last.”
