The members of Troop #40784 are very kind! They recently visited HSHV and brought a variety of donations. Members sold girl scout cookies and used the funds to purchase donations! Matilda is such a kind kid! Matilda recently celebrated her birthday and wanted to help the animals at HSHV. She organized a birthday fundraiser and asked her friends for donations to HSHV instead of birthday gifts. Blankets, toys, pet food, and monetary donations were collected and given to HSHV! Bruce, now Haunter, was so scared and pacing so much when we brought him home. We’re unsure of his story, the guy had probably never been in a home before. The first many nights he slept between us and would wake us up in the middle of the night with kisses. He fit in right away, my husky loves having a brother. So far he loves to get in rivers and we bring him to the skate park where he likes to follow us around and try to herd the skateboards. Also loves cuddling and acting crazy with his brother

We adopted Amber (formerly Maggie) Sept 1, 2008. She turned 17 on 2/29/25. We’ve had a great life together. We still walk 2 miles daily with our pal Niles. We’ve camped together all over Michigan and Ontario. Everyone we meet still thinks she’s a puppy. Even though her eyesight is failing she still brings joy to us and everyone she meets along the way.
