We met Athena (formerly Althena) at the Humane Society of Huron Valley in August 2018. We’d visited a couple of dogs before, but there was something different about her. She was immediately so affectionate and sweet, and we felt a real connection. We had a trip to go on, so we hoped she would still be there when we returned, and she was! Still the same sweet dog. We took her home for a pajama party on a Thursday night and officially adopted her four days later. She was clearly a little anxious in the new place, but in a week or so, she starting finishing her meals and playing with toys. She loves running around in our yard and playing games, she loves taking naps next to us, and wagging her tail. We’re excited to live and learn with her and welcome her as the newest member of our family. We’re thankful to HSHV for all the great work that they do.
