Four weeks ago, my boyfriend and I came to HSHV “just to look” at the dogs they had. As soon as we came up to his cage and saw Sam (then Lassen) for the first time, we fell in love. About four years ago, my family and I went to HSHV. When we went past the cat communal rooms, I saw a cat who made me stop walking and look into the window. The cat was bone-thin, all his ribs showing. According to his kennel card, he had just arrived at the shelter. He looked scared. I was looking around for a support dog. I stopped and chatted with Chloe, and then I went on my way. I looked at a couple of other dogs, and then I was walking back past Chloe when she let out this yowl like, “Wait!” I told the lady, “I’ll take ‘er!” and she’s been here ever since, with her two siblings– cats Henry and Nonna. She likes to chase them, so they basically stay in the room until they come out at night when they know she’s asleep. Chloe sleeps in my bed every night. She hogs the covers.

It has been a full 365 days since we adopted our sweet Tiny Lion Rosie and we could not be happier.
