Brownie is a sensitive man who needs a quiet, calm environment to relax in. This shelter setting is super loud and stressful! He has done well acclimating to staff who take their time and give Brownie space to warm up – hot dogs and space often help win him over – but he’d truly show his personality in a calm environment. He is reported to be a fearful, cautious guy around other dogs and unfamiliar people on his surrender profile. He would likely do best as an only dog. Due to his sensitive nature he may do best meeting all household members prior to leaving, and discretion should be used with kids under 5. He has history of living with young children prior but may not prefer unfamiliar young kids. He has not lived with cats so fosters should do slow and separated integrations.

How to Foster Brownie:

New fosters can take the first step by learning about fostering and signing up to become a new foster. Veteran foster parents can email fosters@hshv.org to schedule a pickup appointment.
