Buddy here is looking for a foster home to get out of the shelter environment. He needs a special foster who is experienced with dogs who are not super social. Buddy is scared of people and does attempt to bite when scared.
Buddy has a history of multiple bites in the previous home – typically related to handling like grooming/nail trims as well as with strangers in his space.
Buddy resource guards his food bowl and other high value food objects and will need a foster who understands thoughtful management around resource guarding. He has shown discomfort around barriers like x-pens and the kennel door as well, he will likely do best fed in a separate room and left completely alone to only have bowls picked up when he is not in the same room. He has been quiet when housed in a kennel and in a room and walks well on leash when he feels comfortable enough to walk. He has handling sensitivities and only wants to be touched on his terms, but will solicit pets from you when he is comfortable by standing next to you and nudging your hand if you offer it. He enjoys chasing his stuffed toys and zooming around when given breaks from his kennel.
He will need a quiet, low traffic home with no children or other animals, potentially 1-2 adults who can read body language and respect his boundaries.
