Eugene is an older dog who was recently returned to the shelter. He is extremely stressed in his kennel and due to being very overweight is unable to get out for long walks or extended time out of the kennel. He has not been eating well here and we think the stress of the shelter is likely contributing. We are hoping to get him into a home where he does not have to experience such high levels of stress. Due to his weight he is quite strong and can pull – we will send him along with a harness to help manage his pulling. He does not like other dogs and will need to be the only dog in the home! He is generally quite friendly with people, but we do not have specific history on how he does with children under 5, so we would recommend monitoring and supervision with any young children as he transitions in his new environment.
How to Foster Eugene:
New fosters can take the first step by learning about fostering and signing up to become a new foster. Veteran foster parents can email fosters@hshv.org to schedule a pickup appointment.
