Festus is a high energy young dog who is overwhelmed by the shelter environment. He is a goofy boy who would love a chance to get out of the confinement of a kennel and stretch his legs in a foster home! He can be nervous with new people but is not difficult to build trust with and loves to play, especially with stuffed toys, once he has decided you are his buddy. We think he would likely blossom in a home setting where he is less overwhelmed by all the constant stimulus at the shelter. He loves to engage in training and has been gaining confidence with the help of volunteers and staff. He is a pretty food motivated guy who would benefit from further confidence building with a foster! He has recently been able to play with other dogs here at the shelter but can be nervous of them on first greeting, so he will benefit from an intro here at the shelter. He can be a rough and tumble guy in play groups and loves a lot of bitey play, so he will need a similarly energetic, tolerant and dog social play mate.
