My partner and I have lived in Ann Arbor for the past 2 years for graduate school in a non dog-friendly apartment – the first time in either of our lives without a furry friend running around. We had been eagerly waiting to move so we could adopt our new family member! In April we finally were able to start searching for our perfect fit, which was complicated due to adoption limitations around COVID-19. We absolutely love HSHV with many friends having happy adoption stories, and had email alerts set to let us know about dogs since we were not able to come in and visit!

On April 28th we got an alert that Finn had arrived at HSHV. Within a half hour we had applied and were set up to meet him the next day! I had a wonderful rabbit named Finn who had passed away in March 2018, so the matching name felt like just one more sign he was the perfect dog for us. We fell in love instantly! Finn came home with us and has completely taken over our home. He is 4 years old but has every bit of puppy energy. He loves his tennis balls, saying hello to new friends on the Botanic Gardens walking path (from a distance, for now!), and HUGE sticks.

We can tell Finn was very loved in his past home and he loves to snuggle and snooze after a long day of playing. We are so thankful for HSHV for bringing him into our lives and look forward to a long, happy life with our sweet boy!
