Age: 7 Months Sex: Female Breed: American Blue Heeler Mix Weight: 40 lbs Restrictions: Must Meet Dogs; No Kids Under 5
Jay is a young pup seeking foster! She is pretty jumpy and high arousal in the shelter setting and we would like to get her back into a home where she can work on basic training while waiting to be adopted. She would need to meet any dogs prior to going to foster to make sure they match in play style, as she is an excitable young girl. She did display some resource guarding when first arriving to the shelter, but it seems to have been stress-based, as that behavior did not continue after settling in to shelter life. However, as a precaution, she should not live with young kids due to this and also being jumpy and high-energy.
How to Foster Jay:
New fosters can take the first step by learning about fostering and signing up to become a new foster. Veteran foster parents can email fosters@hshv.org to schedule a pickup appointment.
