I adopted Kane just before Thanksgiving.
When I saw Kane, I knew he was the one. My mother is a veterinarian, so I’ve always had a special place in my heart for special pets. And with only three legs, Kane is definitely special.
Based on the intake paperwork from HSHV and X-rays and exams my mother did, it looks like Kane’s entire back end was crushed somehow, and his previous owners left it to heal on his own. HSHV amputated the worst leg, but it looks like Kane will need pretty extensive surgery on the other as well, or he will lose use of it and need another amputation and a wheel chair.
Despite all this, he is the happiest, most playful, loving boy. And I love him just as much.
