We adopted our 5th (and only fur) child in January. She had been returned multiple times to HSHV due to her reactive nature/anxiousness/separate anxiety issues.

She is loving and gentle, and although she is still reactive, she has greatly improved with a little time, effort, understanding and love. Most importantly, she is so wonderful and tolerant of our son who has ASD. It’s like she just knows he is different and even if he annoys her, she’s very patient and kind with him. It truly is heart warming.

We love her so very much. She is not just our “dog”- she is literally our child, our kids’ fur sibling, a part of our family, and we couldn’t imagine life without her.
