Lucy (now Jiji) was surrendered to HSHV because she didn’t fit well with her previous family’s situation. When I saw her on the website, I really wanted to meet her.

Once we went to HSHV we asked for her and found her in a kitty condo sleeping. She was very thin and tiny and didn’t seem very happy, but was purring when we pet her. She did swat at us, but I still knew I wanted her to come home with us. We were warned that due to past indicated behaviors she likely wouldn’t ever really want to cuddle or be very affectionate. Boy, was that wrong!

Jiji is always eagerly waiting for me when I come home from work and loves to curl up in my or my fiancé’s lap and take naps. She is soft and a more normal cat size now, after we had to help her get used to eating food at a reasonable speed. She’s sassy and playful, and loves us dearly. She loves to sit on her big plastic bag or run through her tunnel, and will often ask for belly rubs (followed by a light bap when she’s decided that’s enough). Her favorite toy is a catnip lemon and she loves to be up high (thankfully on her cat tower now instead of the curtain rod!) She’s my best friend and I’m sorry her previous family didn’t get to see her flourish, but I’m so glad she’s my kitty now. Thank you so much HSHV!!!
