Adopt a Pet-of-the-Week!

These are some of our staff’s favorite animals. Shout out to our media partners for helping homeless pets find great homes! You can listen to us talk about these Pets of the Week on Thursdays around 7:30 a.m. on Ann Arbor’s 107one, 8:05 a.m. on WTKA, and around 10 a.m. on Saturday on 1290 AM WLBY.

The Ann Arbor's 107one Pet-of-the-week is Azalea

The Ann Arbor’s 107one Pet-of-the-week is Azalea

Azalea is a shy cat looking for a patient adopter who is willing to give her time to adjust and show her sweet, affectionate personality! Azalea came to the shelter after suffering from some burn wounds and smoke exposure, and while we don’t know her history, we do know that she’s ready for a calm, loving home where she can live in comfort for the rest of her life! Remember, the best things in life are worth waiting for – like a special bond with a cat who learns to trust you and come out of her shell!

All the animals available for adoption through the Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on their vaccinations and have a microchip I.D. which is included in their affordable adoption fee.

The WTKA Top-Dog-of-the-Week is Baklava

The WTKA Top-Dog-of-the-Week is Baklava

Hello! My name is Baklava! I have the softest ears and the fluffiest coat, and I would do well in a wide variety of homes. I love people of all ages, and tend to get along with dogs — but I should meet any canine siblings before I go home. Here at HSHV I’ve been a real ambassador, visiting youth programs, field trips and offsite events. I’m easygoing and like to just curl up in a comfy spot and bask in everyone’s attention! Come meet me today so I can show you what I’m all about.

The Lucy Ann Lance Show Pet-of-the-Week is Nova

Meet Nova! Here is a note from her foster mom: “Nova is the easiest dog ever! She is 100% crate trained and potty trained. She is happy to sleep in her crate all night long and is great about asking to go outside first thing in the morning, right before bed, and in the afternoon. We haven’t seen her with kids but she LOVES humans and is incredibly sweet and friendly with new people. She has a lot of energy, especially for a 9 year old and loves to be outside, but seems equally happy sitting on the couch watching TV with us. Overall she is smart, cuddly, and sweet. We’ve been able to leave her home alone outside of her crate for up to 6-7 hours without any issues. Anyone would be so so lucky to have her in their family.”

Nova is looking for a home without any cats, or other dogs. If this sounds like you, please call the adoptions team at 734-662-5585 or email adoptions@hshv.org to set up a visit today!
