Adopt a Pet-of-the-Week!

These are some of our staff’s favorite animals. Shout out to our media partners for helping homeless pets find great homes! You can listen to us talk about these Pets of the Week on Thursdays around 7:30 a.m. on Ann Arbor’s 107one, 8:05 a.m. on WTKA, and around 10 a.m. on Saturday on 1290 AM WLBY.

The Ann Arbor’s 107one Pet-of-the-week is Andromeda!

Hi my name is Andromeda! I am a shy cat looking for a patient adopter who understands that I have a bit of a rough past — as you can see from the fur still growing in over my nose, I came in with some face wounds which HSHV has been kindly treating me for. Now that I’m all healthy, I’m ready to find my perfect match!

If you’re willing to give me time to adjust and open up in my new home, I’ll come out of my shell and start to show more of my true personality. After all, the best things in life are worth waiting for – like a special bond with a cat who likes the calmer side of life. Since I can be rather shy, I would prefer a quieter home without younger children.

The animals available for adoption through the Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on their vaccinations and have a microchip I.D. which is included in their affordable adoption fee.

The WTKA Top-Dog-of-the-Week is Dill!

The WTKA Top-Dog-of-the-Week is Dill!

Hi my name is Dill! I am a shy kind of dog who is looking for a patient adopter, willing to give me time to adjust and open up in my new home. I will seek comfort from my favorite people while I work on my confidence. I’d like to meet any potential dog siblings so I can make sure our vibes match. I love to play but I can be sensitive when it gets to be too much, I may do best in a home without young children. If you give me a chance, you could be just the person I am looking for, and I could be the dog to make you feel complete!

The Lucy Ann Lance Show Pet-of-the-Week is Holmes!

The Lucy Ann Lance Show Pet-of-the-Week is Holmes!

Holmes is a guy with little legs and big feelings! Some dogs are already your best friend before they even meet you. Holmes makes you earn it! He’ll likely want to visit with you more than once at the shelter before opening up. This 4 year old cattle dog mix came to us as a stray and just needs some love and consistency in his life! But trust us, the patience pays off. Holmes wiggles up to trusted staff members for treats and scritches, and he’ll thrive with an understanding adopter who lets him open up at his own pace.
Holmes takes a medication for skin allergies, would do best with a slow intro to cats in the home, must meet doggy siblings before adoption, and prefers kids over 12 since, again, he’s a shy guy! If this sounds like your speed, Holmes would love to trot his spotted paws into your life!
