Primrose is overwhelmed by the busyness of the shelter. She can be nervous meeting new people, but once she knows you she loves pets and leaning against you. In a previous foster home she warmed up within a few days, and once comfortable started to show her young, energetic side.

She has made progress with her basic manners (not jumping, waiting for food and treats) with consistent training in her previous foster home. She will need a foster who can continue to work on building her confidence in new situations as well as continuing with basic training to help set her up for success in her future home.

She has been neutral and appropriate greeting other dogs here, but would still benefit from meeting dogs prior to going to foster. We do not have any history with her with cats, so would need ability to separate and follow slow introductions in the home. She would do best in a home with calmer, more mature children who can understand her need for space when she is feeling uncomfortable.

How to Foster Primrose:

New fosters can take the first step by learning about fostering and signing up to become a new foster. Veteran foster parents can email fosters@hshv.org to schedule a pickup appointment.
