Age: 2 Sex: Female Breed: Hound Weight: 41lbs Restrictions: Must Meet Dogs. No Young Kids.
Royal has been working on gaining her confidence here, but can be nervous with new people. She can take a minute to warm up, but has been able to make lots of new friends with the staff and volunteers at the shelter. She will do well with a foster who wants to continue working on building her confidence when meeting new people. In her previous home she was able to go to the dog park and would go to the dog sitter’s house with other dogs, but she has been nervous when meeting dogs here and will need to meet any potential doggy siblings before going out to foster. She would likely prefer a calmer and more neutral dog. She has history of being uncomfortable around small children and would to best with older dog-savvy kids who can respect her space. She does not have history with cats and will need a slow introduction and the ability to keep separate at first.
How to Foster Royal:
New fosters can take the first step by learning about fostering and signing up to become a new foster. Veteran foster parents can email fosters@hshv.org to schedule a pickup appointment.
