It was October of 2005. We had been looking for a dog for a couple of months but had not yet come across one that we felt was right for our family at the time. It was a half day and our parents promised that we would go to the shelter after school.
We spent the day looking at various places with no luck, and HSHV was our last stop.
We were familiar with HSHV because we had visited a few times before, and our mom said that if we didn’t find one here, we were going to take a little break from looking for a while.
Well. We walked into the puppy room and one of the volunteers was holding the sweetest girl we ever did see ❤️
Sadie was 8 weeks old, and to our luck had been returned because her previous owners had a baby and did not realize the work a pup would be. Due to the timing we couldn’t take her home that day, but we put her on hold and got to pick her up the next day after school. It was the most exciting day ever.
And 14.5 years later – she’s still the sweetest girl we ever did see and the best addition to our family we ever could have dreamed of ❤️
