Joyce’s sixth graders at Hillside Middle School are such kind kids! This 6th grade class wanted to help out the resident animals in the shelter. I adopted Echo in January after the loss of my beloved cat of 16 years. My previous cat could never be replaced, but I wanted a new furry friend to love. Although she took some time to adjust to her new surroundings, she quickly became very sweet and friendly. She loves to play with shadows or a laser pointer. She has an impressive vocabulary of murps and mews that she delights us with; she’s always chatting with us. She also loves to snuggle with us at night. We are completely enamored with her and couldn’t imagine our lives without her!

Isabella is such a kind kid! Isabella adopted her cat from HSHV and loves her very much. She was inspired by her love for her pet and wanted to help the other animals at the shelter. In order to do this, she decided to use her birthday money to buy gifts for the animals instead. She did this by donating food, bags, dog shampoo, and many other wonderful donations to HSHV. Troop #40785 is a very kind troop indeed. After completing the Three Cheers for Animals Journey and learning more about animals, this Daisy troop wanted to help the animals in the shelter. Together they used fabric markers to decorate bandanas in order to help the dogs at HSHV draw attention from adopters. They also wrote super kind notes to the dogs as well.
