Saving Animals with Savings

Lance, Westen, and Ryan are kind kids indeed!  They were inspired by their love of animals to help the residents at HSHV.  For the past year, they saved money for HSHV.  Lance, Westen, and Ryan were able to save up a wonderful monetary donation to help the homeless animals at HSHV!  Thank you so much, Lance, Westen, and Ryan!  We are so grateful for your generosity, and we know the animals are too!

Case Dog Needs a Foster

Age: 1   Sex: Female   Breed: Pit Mix   Weight: 80 Pounds This dog is part of a case and has been at the shelter for over a month. She is a little overwhelmed by the busy environment here, but enjoys spending time in our play yards. We do not know how long she will be in our care, so we would like to get her out to foster. She would need to meet any potential dog siblings, and will likely do best with a calmer dog. We do not have any history on her with cats or children.   ** To foster a case

Winnie has found her forever home!

My partner and I had been wanting to adopt our own dog for quite some time now, and we decided to bring in the new year with a new pup! We came to HSHV to find the right dog for us, and after going on one visit to the shelter, no one caught our eye. Upon our second visit, we saw (TiTi) Winnie. She was circulating her crate while holding a stuffie in her mouth and wiggling her butt from side to side (things she still does every single day). We really wanted to give her a forever home after

Kent Needs a Foster

Age: 1   Sex: Male   Breed: Retriever   Weight: 58 Pounds Kent is a lovely boy who values the great outdoors and open air. He’s stressed and anxious here in the shelter and does not like the confinement a kennel provides. He would do best with a foster able to be home frequently to avoid crating him, as Kent can be an escape artist around doors and crates and is smart enough to figure some of them out! His leash manners have been improving since adding a harness to his walking regimen. Kent rides well in the car and will lay down to chew on soft

Festus Is Seeking Foster

Age: 1   Sex: Male   Breed: Pit Mix   Weight: 51 Pounds Festus is a high energy young dog who is overwhelmed by the shelter environment. He is a goofy boy who would love a chance to get out of the confinement of a kennel and stretch his legs in a foster home! He can be nervous with new people but is not difficult to build trust with and loves to play, especially with stuffed toys, once he has decided you are his buddy. We think he would likely blossom in a home setting where he is less overwhelmed by all the constant stimulus at
