While pain relievers can be very important for our furry friends, don’t reach to your medicine cabinet for help.

Aspirin, Acetaminophen (Tylenol), and Ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin) can be extremely dangerous causing kidney problems, liver damage, and GI and bleeding disorders.

Signs of NSAID toxicity include:

  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Abnormal appetite, drinking or urination
  • Seizures
  • Tremors
  • Lethargy
  • Respiratory problems
  • Death

Animals feel pain just as we do and our furry family often need pain management.  But always seek the counsel of a veterinarian first.
