We came into the humane society a few weeks ago looking for a senior dog we could take good care of. When we first met Apollo he was living with an amazing foster family and they told us he was a great dog—very quiet and easygoing. On 10/30/25 my boyfriend and I came to HSHV feeling discouraged after experiencing a failed foster. Penny aka Salt was so shy when I went to visit her. She did not want to be out in the open and constantly wanted to be under the couch or bed.
