Fiona Loves Furry Friends

Fiona told us that she has always liked animals, and has always believed in animal rights! That is why she decided to give back to the homeless pets at HSHV. Fiona brought in a big bag of dog food and also gave a very generous money donation. Fiona collected these awesome gifts by hosting a birthday party and asking for donations to the shelter from her party guests. Thank you Fiona, for loving our furry friends!

Eva’s Gift for the Animals

We have so many kind kids in our community who decide that instead of getting presents for themselves, they’d like to give some gifts to the homeless animals at HSHV instead. Eva just celebrated her birthday, and at her birthday party she collected donations from her friends who attended. Eva ended up bringing in lots of pet food and toys for our animals waiting for a forever home. Thank you Eva, for your love of animals and for helping them out!

Ben Gives Back

Ben decided that he didn’t need any more toys – but the animals at the Humane Society of Huron Valley sure do! Ben asked his friends to donate items for the animals instead of asking for birthday presents at his party this year. Ben came to the shelter and brought tons of toys for our homeless cats and dogs, along with food, treats, towels, and even money. Thank you to Ben for showing such kindness to the animals this year on your birthday, we appreciate it!

Fundraising by Sofia and Frankie

Sofie and Frankie are siblings who absolutely love animals and HSHV! They have two labs at home, Brooklyn and Harlow, who they care a lot about. So the girls decided to give to the dogs that are staying at the Humane Society until they find their own forever homes. Sofie and Frankie held a fundraiser at their Dad’s work, and brought in a very generous donation. Thank you to these two dog lovers for giving back!

Mia Helps Animals Feel at Home

Mia recently celebrated her 10th birthday, and at her party instead of gifts she asked for donations to the Humane Society! Mia came to HSHV and brought a carload of dog and cat food, tons of toys, litter, and even money. Mia said she gave this generous donation because she “wanted the dogs and cats to feel at home” here. Troop 40599 Helps Our Pets

The Girl Scouts of Troop 40599 had a brainstorm about which service project they wanted to help out. They ended up deciding that they wanted to donate to HSHV! These girls got together money from their Girl Scout Cookie sales, along with collecting cozy blankets for our animals to be comfy in their stay here. The troop then had a visit to the shelter, and came in with all of their donations. Thank you Troop 40599 for your kind help for the animals!

The Healthy Musician Institute does an event every spring where they do community outreach for HSHV. For this outreach, they collect items for the homeless dogs and cats at the Humane Society waiting for their forever families. Donations From Dexter Girls on the Run

The Girls on the Run from Dexter chose HSHV for their end of season community impact project. These girls made a big effort to donate to HSHV by making signs about donations and collecting donations at their school. By organizing this fundraiser, they were able to donate towels, canned food, dry food, pill pockets, lint rollers, and even money! Troop 40487 Treats Our Dogs

Girl Scout Troop 40487 earned their “Pets” badge by giving to the dogs of HSHV! Each girl scout made a treat bag for a dog, and these wonderfully decorated bags contained tons of tasty treats for pups. This Girl Scout Troop LOVES dogs! Sophie and Natalie led the meeting and came up with the plan themselves. After teaching the other scouts about HSHV and how to make the treat bags, they donated the finished products! Thank you to these pet-lovers for spending time creating something fun and yummy for our dogs!

Kindness From Mrs. Marshall’s Class

Mrs. Marshall’s class came to HSHV for a visit! While they were here, they got to learn about our animal friends and take a tour to visit the adoptable dogs and cats who are waiting for their forever homes. While they came to learn, Mrs. Marshall’s class also gave back to the shelter by making generous donations! Families brought food, toys, treats, and more for our animals here. Thank you to Mrs. Marshall’s class for spreading kindness to our shelter pets!
