Hydrangea is a high energy girl who is overwhelmed by the busy shelter environment. She would much prefer a quiet home where she can take naps on the couch and get one on one training and enrichment. We have noted reactivity towards people (particularly men) in the shelter environment and would need a foster with experience in introducing nervous dogs to new people. A quieter environment for her to sniff and explore would be great for helping her decompress and let us get a better picture of what she is like in a home! Hydrangea will need meet any children under 12 before going to foster due to her nervous and high energy nature. She did live with young children in her previous home but generally benefits from slower introductions with new people. Hydrangea was avoidant and not interested in playing during her dog test at the shelter but has been able to buddy walk with other dogs. If she goes home with another dog, foster should have the ability to separate during the first week to allow for decompression prior to integration. Due to her high prey drive seen in shelter (chasing rabbits) she would likely be most successful in a home without cats. We do not have any specific cat history, so if she were to go to a home with cats she would need initial separation and slow integration.
