When my best fur friend of 12 years, Dakota, (HSHV alumni) crossed the rainbow bridge in early November 2024…my heart shattered. As a volunteer dog walker at HSHV, I found myself spending more and more time at the shelter with the dogs. In April 2025 a handsome, senior dog named Lando came to the shelter. Right away I felt a connection to him. I walked him daily at the shelter, then I took him home for shelter breaks, finally realizing he’s the one, and I adopted Lando on May 8, 2025. We celebrated Lando’s 12th Birthday in August. We spent a lot of time at the lake this past summer. He loves going anywhere in the car. He loves going to the park, fetching tennis balls, frosty paws ice cream, laying on the couch and his feline brother named Star. I feel very lucky and blessed to have found Lando. The last 8 months have been the best of 2025!! I love you Lando!
