The Ann Arbor's 107one Pet-of-the-Week is Porcupine

The Ann Arbor’s 107one Pet-of-the-Week is Porcupine

Porcupine has had a long journey. When he came to us on August 1st, Porcupine was emaciated and so weak he could barely walk. He weighed 36lbs. Now, nearly 2 months later, he’s up to 65lbs and his personality is shining! Porcupine has blossomed: going from a weak, lethargic dog who slept all day, to a bouncy pup who races after toys in the yard and tussles with his foster sibling!
Porcupine is a lovey-dovey boy who would make a wonderful companion for a wide variety of people. He will need some special considerations: 1) He was starving for a long time — as a result, he can be mouthy with treats and you’d better keep a close eye on any food you leave on the counter! His adopter will need to be understanding and ready to continue his “table manners” training, and we will provide advice and resources to help you! 2) Porcupine has regained so much energy that he’s actually quite the goofball around other dogs! He does well with his extremely tolerant foster sibling, but will need to meet any potential doggy siblings before adoption to make sure they can handle his boisterous play style. He may do best in a home without other dogs.
Are you ready to be the next happy chapter in Porcupine’s journey? Call us at 734-662-5585 or check out his profile at hshv.org/adopt!
