Adopt a Pet-of-the-Week!

These are some of our staff’s favorite animals. Shout out to our media partners for helping homeless pets find great homes! You can listen to us talk about these Pets of the Week on Thursdays around 7:30 a.m. on Ann Arbor’s 107one, 8:05 a.m. on WTKA, and around 10 a.m. on Saturday on 1290 AM WLBY.

The Ann Arbor’s 107one Pet-of-the-week is Pidgeot!

Hi my name is Pidgeot, I am a retired racing pigeon and would love to tell you a bit about myself. We pigeons are much more intelligent and social than most people realize, and we can make great pets! We are active birds and can live upwards of ten years, so taking on a pigeon requires a devoted keeper, as well as a spacious, well set-up cage, healthy diet, and plenty of safe, supervised indoor exercise time! You won’t see me out on the adoptions floor at the shelter, since I’m hanging out with the cool kids (aka, the HSHV Rescue Officers) in their office. But I’d love to meet you! If you think you have room in your roost for me, come meet me and speak with our adoptions team today!

The WTKA Top-Dog-of-the-Week is Nellie!

Hi my name is Nellie! I am a shy kind of dog who is looking for a patient adopter who is willing to give me time to adjust and open up in my new home. I will seek comfort from my favorite people while I work on my confidence. If you give me a chance, you could be just the person I am looking for, and I could be the dog to make you feel complete!

All the animals available for adoption through the Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on their vaccinations and have a microchip I.D. which is included in their affordable adoption fee.

I am a quick learner, and with the help of some yummy treats, I will make you proud with my excellent manners. I do have A LOT of energy and may be a bit too much for some families! However, a lot of energy also means a lot of LOVE! With time, training, and patience- you can help me be the best dog I can be!
