I’ll never forget coming in to look at the animals with my mom (a favorite pastime of ours) and seeing this adorable smooshy puppy sleeping in the back of her cage. I sat next to her and slowly coaxed her to the front, where she then licked my hands. I asked to visit with her and when the volunteer brought her outside, she said, “she’s very shy, so you might have to be patient with her.” I kneeled down and she leapt into my arms! That’s when I knew I had to have her. I spent the rest of the day getting ready for her and the next day I took her home. Turns out the volunteer was right-she’s still very shy! But four years later, she’s come out of her shell some (although I think she will always be shy) and she’s the sweetest, snuggliest, and silliest dog I have ever met. I am so lucky that she picked me that day.
