Ruben is a shy young boy at first, but once he gets to you know he is a sweet, silly young boy. He will need someone who can help build his confidence and continue working with him on basic manners. He can sometimes be jumpy and mouthy, but is typically easily redirected. He is on a diet for skin allergies, so it is important to stick to cheese and peanut butter for high value treats, but he has so far been very motivated by cheese in particular. He is a goofy young guy who picks up on new things pretty well. He would likely do best with older kids due to his excitable and jumpy behavior. He has shown interest in other dogs, but would benefit from meeting them before going to foster. He does not have any history with cats.
How to Foster Ruben:
New fosters can take the first step by learning about fostering and signing up to become a new foster. Veteran foster parents can email fosters@hshv.org to schedule a pickup appointment.
