Wyatt is an owner surrender who is finding the shelter environment too much for a little guy like him. In his kennel, he is nervous and appeasing, and appears to be more relaxed when taken out of the kennel. Wyatt does have some reactivity to large dogs seen while out of his kennel, and discomfort seen on his dog test. He was surrendered due to reported resource guarding of food from other dogs in the home, so he would do best without any other dogs in the home. We do not have history with cats so slow introductions are required. Wyatt is not reported as house trained and would benefit from getting outside frequently to learn good house training habits. Due to his nervous nature, a foster with a calm, quiet household with benefit Wyatt greatly. We would love to see how Wyatt settles in foster, even if just for a few weeks to help gather insight on his ideal home.

How to Foster Wyatt:

New fosters can take the first step by learning about fostering and signing up to become a new foster. Veteran foster parents can email fosters@hshv.org to schedule a pickup appointment.
