The animal habitat badge was a well-earned reward for Girl Scout Troop 41684. This troop raised funds through their girl scout meetings and also got donations from stores. They ended up bringing toys, food, blankets, cleaning materials and more to the shelter to help out our homeless animals. Maisy drew us in right away. She welcomed our attention so she seemed like a good fit for the kitty we already had who was in need of a best friend. She was estimated to be 3 years old, but we weren’t so sure because of her small size. We took her home and it’s safe to say she grew.

During the Polar Vortex, I could not get my mind off adopting a dog. Thinking about a poor dog shivering in the cold just didn’t sit well with my mind. When I walked into the kitten room, Milo (then Linus) jumped onto the bars of the crate, and I knew he was coming home with me. On our first wedding anniversary in October, we decided to get a friend for our cat Oliver.
