Terrific Troop #78434

The members of Troop #78434 are so kind!  They love animals and were excited to visit the animals at HSHV and wanted to help them further.  They collected donations to make braided toys and small stuffed pillows for the cats and dogs.  Members learned how to braid, and hand stuffed the pillows!  Thank you so much, Troop #78434!  We appreciate your kindness, thank you!

Juno Would Love a Foster

Age: 3  Sex: Female   Breed: Smooth Collie Weight: 52 Pounds Juno is a nervous girl but appreciates attention once she is comfortable. She enjoys spending time in the play yard and chasing tennis balls, so may do best in a home with a fenced yard or area where she can run safely on a long-line. She was able to interact with another dog here, but was nervous with his play style, so will need to meet dog siblings prior to going to foster to make sure they are a good fit. We do not have any history on her with cats, so she would need

Dalton Wants a Foster

Age: 5  Sex: Male   Breed: Pit Mix  Weight: 69 Pounds Dalton has been at HSHV for a few months now and is in the process of recovering from double knee surgery. He has become a big volunteer favorite and has been learning a lot from all his staff and volunteer friends, especially with managing his dog reactivity. He has come a long way and was recently able to calmly coexist with another dog on his recent dog test. He would likely prefer to be an only dog, especially since he still has some exercise restrictions to manage, but may be able to be managed

One eyed bandit finds love

I had accidentally ordered too much food from Chewy for our previous adoptee (honorable mention for Ms. Lady Featherington now Mochi) so my silly brain said “find someone to help eat it!” Off I went to find a friend…a female, NOT orange friend…. Bandit, my sweet MALE ORANGE baby is settling in just fine. He is learning to cat from Ms. Mochi and how to accept love. He is a little timid but full of curiosity of spunk. He is the piece we were missing and we are so grateful we found him. Popeye now Bandit

Apollo is feeling like a puppy again!

We came into the humane society a few weeks ago looking for a senior dog we could take good care of. When we first met Apollo he was living with an amazing foster family and they told us he was a great dog—very quiet and easygoing. The next day, we picked him up for a pajama party and knew right away we had found a perfect fit. We went in the next day to officially adopt him. Since then, he’s really been settling in and we’ve loved seeing his affectionate and playful sides come out. He’s been bounding around at

Case Dogs Need a Foster

We currently have 8 case dogs waiting for foster placement. They are here because HSHV is the holding facility for animals going through court trials. They can not be adopted. We are not able to spay or neuter them. They would all be much more comfortable in a home since cases can take a long time to resolve. Only the first letter of their name will be provided for privacy.   First is H: Age: 5   Sex: Male   Breed: English Bulldog  Weight: 53 Pounds H  is a wiggly boy who deserves a break from shelter life! He is a pending case animal and will

Jade Would Love a Foster

Age: 2  Sex: Female   Breed: Shepherd  Weight: 55 Pounds Jade arrived here as a stray and started out very nervous but has become comfortable with staff here. She is likely housetrained, as she keeps her kennel very clean. She will need to meet any dog siblings prior to going to foster and would likely be most comfortable with a calmer dog who is not eager to rush into play. We do not have any history on her regarding cats, so she would need a separate space and a slow, controlled introduction if living with any cats in foster. Due to her shy nature, she

Kind Kai

Kai is such a kind kid!  He volunteers at HSHV and the Tiny Lions Cat Café and wanted to help the cats and kittens at both locations.  Kai was inspired to start his own fundraiser by other youth fundraisers in the community, so he organized a Minecraft fundraiser!  All proceeds were then donated to HSHV!  Thank you so much, Kai.  We greatly appreciate your thoughtful donation.
