My New Best Friend

Cleo now Pantalaimon I adopted Cleo (now Pantalaimon) in June 2022. When I went into her kitty condo to meet her she jumped right down to greet me and then settled into my lap. I knew right then we’d be good friends. We are having a great time playing and cuddling, and she spends the night curled up alongside my legs. Each day is better for having her in it!

Girls on the Run Gives Graciously!

The Girls on the Run Team from Wines Elementary school is full of kind kids! This team loves animals and wanted to make a positive impact on their lives. For their Community Impact Project this year, they decided to make toys and treats to donate to the animals at HSHV. They also sold some of these toys and collected money for the shelter. With their help, all of our cats and dogs are now enjoying their new toys handmade by the team themselves! Thank you so much Girls on the Run for your kindness and creativity! We appreciate you, and

Joyous Jake

Jake is such a kind kid! Jake loves all different types of animals and decided to he wanted to help the animals at the shelter. To do this, he ran a lemonade stand and used the money he raised to buy donations. He then donated lots of food, treats, toys, and even hay for all of the animals here at HSHV! Thank you so much for your kindness, Jake! Your hard work and generosity is appreciated by all of us, including the animals!

Chili loves sitting in the windowsill, being brushed, plenty of pets, and of course treats! She has been an amazing companion to have in my home. Thank you HSHV for making the adoption process so easy and helpful!

Washtenaw County: The Best Place to Be a Community Cat

Many animal shelters and rescues are beginning to develop programs for community cats. This is great news, but something that sets the Humane Society of Huron Valley apart as leaders is that we have had a program for over 15 years, and over that time we have continually analyzed and improved our processes to better serve the cats in our community. The primary goal of TNR is to reduce unsocialized cat populations over time, so that all cats get the chance to grow up indoors with access to veterinary care. However, just because a cat doesn’t have an owner doesn’t

Joey’s Journey

Joey was a Tiny Lions favorite for his freckly nose, lopsided ears, raspy meow, and love of everyone and anyone he ever meets. I adopted him in September 2016 shortly after returning to Ann Arbor from 2 years living in Canada, and there isn’t a single day that he hasn’t made my life better! A lot has happened since Joey found his home with me almost 6 years ago. We now live in Lansing, where he has a fellow senior rescue sister Mattie (a 16 year old tabby cat adopted from the Capital Area Human Society) and a dad! (my

Our Fur Family Grows

My daughter and I both adopted cats from Tiny Lions and they have been the best companions! Tiny Lions Cat Cafe was fairly new when we started looking and I think our kitties were around #30 for new adoptions. Leilani (Roxie) was a very skittish girl and spent the first week under the couch. My daughter worked with her every day to gain her trust and she has become the sweetest and most affectionate girl. Gus (Slinky) is in charge and a very affectionate guy. They are both very well behaved and we are thankful for them every day. Both
