We adopted Michael (Mickey) near the end of June after we fell in love with him on HSHV’s website. After a few weeks of acclimation and some learning curves, Mike is a lovely addition to our feline family! His two older brothers, Cooper and Longitude, love him and dote on him constantly. We’ve even seen Long groom him! His adoption listing said he was shy, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. He’s an outgoing, social, and inquisitive 4-month-old kitten with tons of energy! We’re so happy he’s a member of our family! Mickey now Michael

Quite a pair
Apollo (gray) was adopted from HSHV the same weekend we adopted Ashes (black) from Tiny Lions over two years ago. They’ve become best friends and even though they quibble like siblings sometimes, they love each other very much. Apollo is a mama’s boy and loves to snuggle at the end of the day. Ashes is a troublemaker, but is a very sweet and loving girl. They’ve brought us a lot of joy in the last two years. Our family can’t imagine life without them!

Junie finds her furrever home
Junie now Janie Junie was special needs. I understand she didn’t take to shelter living. At all! We adopted her last month after almost a year in foster homes, and she is thriving. Thanks to the behavior team and the foster Moms, she has turned into a loving and happy-go-lucky dog! Gets along with our other dog. Can be pretty sassy at times! A great addition to our home.

My New Best Friend
Cleo now Pantalaimon I adopted Cleo (now Pantalaimon) in June 2022. When I went into her kitty condo to meet her she jumped right down to greet me and then settled into my lap. I knew right then we’d be good friends. We are having a great time playing and cuddling, and she spends the night curled up alongside my legs. Each day is better for having her in it!

Boss seeks employment with family
I got to the shelter. It was very busy. I asked to see Joshua. The workers talk on earphones and I heard, does she know that he will bite her? Well out came lil’ man on a leash. He let me touch him. He got in my lap!! The workers were amazed. It took time for him to decompress. Settle in. He’s a WONDERFUL boy and blesses our family. We adore him. His sister is a Great Dane and she is fine with him being boss😂♥️🐾♥️ Joshua now Gizmo Gustafson Edoff

Chili loves her new home!!
I adopted Chili on June 29, 2022. She was such a sweet girl when I met her, I couldn’t help but take her home with me! Since her adoption she’s really come out of her shell. Chili loves sitting in the windowsill, being brushed, plenty of pets, and of course treats! She has been an amazing companion to have in my home. Thank you HSHV for making the adoption process so easy and helpful!

Joey’s Journey
Joey was a Tiny Lions favorite for his freckly nose, lopsided ears, raspy meow, and love of everyone and anyone he ever meets. I adopted him in September 2016 shortly after returning to Ann Arbor from 2 years living in Canada, and there isn’t a single day that he hasn’t made my life better! A lot has happened since Joey found his home with me almost 6 years ago. We now live in Lansing, where he has a fellow senior rescue sister Mattie (a 16 year old tabby cat adopted from the Capital Area Human Society) and a dad! (my

Our Fur Family Grows
My daughter and I both adopted cats from Tiny Lions and they have been the best companions! Tiny Lions Cat Cafe was fairly new when we started looking and I think our kitties were around #30 for new adoptions. Leilani (Roxie) was a very skittish girl and spent the first week under the couch. My daughter worked with her every day to gain her trust and she has become the sweetest and most affectionate girl. Gus (Slinky) is in charge and a very affectionate guy. They are both very well behaved and we are thankful for them every day. Both

Healing Hearts
In the summer of 2021, we adopted Rosie from Tiny Lions. It was a bittersweet moment in our household as our most senior cat at the time, Jessie, was beginning to slow down (she passed away in December). Rosie has a very strong personality, and she made sure all of her feline siblings (all but Jessie are HSHV adoptees) knew that she was the new ‘tiny fierce’ in our home. She loves the water and will block the sink until you give her a good rinsing. She’s also not a morning cat and prefers to steal your warm spot in

The Transformation of a Feisty Cat!
I adopted Lucy-cat in 2011, after first my cat who I’d inherited from my mother (both HSHV alums) died. I wasn’t sure that I was quite ready to adopt again, but I made several trips to HSHV, just to see who was available. I was very taken with an active kitty who had just come in, but I thought that I should get a senior cat or one with health issues, since I now have a lot of experience with both. But in the end, I adopted Bea, charmed by her beauty and perkiness. I was told that she feisty
